In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to ensure disabled students and staff are well represented during this time. Your Disabled Students Officer, Piers Wilkinson has put together, with some key insights from members, disabled people organisations, and students, a list of questions for individuals and institutions to ask their local authorities, health boards, and equivalent governing bodies in the nations.
Below are templates with 10-15 questions, for you to complete the blanks (i.e.Can disabled people be given blanket pre-emptive permission to pay family members and friends in order to have support in place during this crisis period?) and send off, asking what they doing in response to disabled students’ rights and requirements – particularly in relation to the Coronavirus Bill.
Feel free to send feedback and any answers you receive back into the Disabled Students Campaign via disabled@nus.org.uk
