Working with Bates Wells we can now share the model constitutions and explanatory notes for Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) and Charitable Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs). 

This work took some time to ensure we align with the latest law and best practice and reflect current procedures in students' unions.

You'll be pleased to hear the updated constitutions also have a renewed emphasis on accessibility and “plain English” which will hopefully make them much easier to understand.  We constitutions are now with the Charity Commission where we anticipate they will be given 'approved governing documents status', just like our previous constitutions. This means adopting them will be a smoother process compared to other more complicated and time consuming options.
